Speaking
Talks for rooms that bid work for a living.
Estimating, the trades labor collapse, and running 200 people you cannot see. From somebody who runs the desk, not somebody who sells software for it.
The talks

01
The two options every contractor gets when he hires an estimator, and the third one.
What a takeoff has to contain before you can bid off it the same day.

02
What I learned building the cheapest houses in America, and why I quit.
Affordability, permits, and the short list.
-
03
Nobody wants the takeoff desk: what the labor collapse means for your bids.
Every estimator posting sits open for months. Here is what we did about it.
-
04
Running 200 people you cannot see.
How you keep an estimator two oceans away accountable on a bid due Friday.
What a room gets
Everybody leaves with the walkthrough checklist my team runs on the call at the end of every takeoff. It is not a lead magnet with a landing page behind it. It is the list. Use it on your next set of plans.
The session
Every estimator posting in America is sitting open for months, and every owner is doing the takeoffs himself at night. Sean Kriger knows why. He was the most affordable homebuilder in the country for three years, quit building over Houston's permitting machine, got burned by the first outsourced estimating shop he tried, and spent seven years building a 200 person team that does 75 to 100 house takeoffs and 40 to 50 multifamily takeoffs a month. This session is not about software and not about AI. It is about what a takeoff has to contain before you can bid off it the same day, why the notes matter more than the numbers, how to guess low and carve out on a bad set of plans, and what the collapse of the trades labor market means for a company doing 3 to 5 million a year. Attendees leave with the walkthrough checklist Bold uses on every job.
